September at Waygood

After spending a month in lockdown it has been a joy to return to the gardens. We valued the fresh perspective that comes with having a break. It was heartening to see what we planted a year ago is now established and creating the new spaces we imagined.

We are loving the red clover, which we had sown over winter as a cover crop. They are great for fixing nitrogen in the soil and are beautiful and long lasting in bouquets.

Spring flowers like stock, borage and viola are in abundance.. Perfect for making flower bunches for the cart, that is finally back on the side of the road again. We enjoy the community connection we get from sharing our seedlings, greens, flowers and vegetables on the cart.

It was a short month in the garden but amazing to see what beauty nature creates in a month of absence.
