Earthskin Artist Residencies open

Its good news day! Earthskin Warkworth is proud to finally open its doors and heart to Earthskin Creative Artist Residency Applications.
We have been doing a few test pieces of short residencies of one to two weeks, and that is the offer as by October I sell and move in with my daughter at Matakana for the next elder piece of my life. (Piha Earthskin is not available as the land is going to have a well-earned rest, to update our infrastructure).
The Earthskin Barn Studio is magnificent, and very cosy for winter. The house is nestled in a Permaculture community space, with monthly hands-on trainings and young folk helping and learning too. We live in a 2-hectare food Forrest, surrounded by normal farming, so this is an oasis for nature, inside and out. We are about an hour away from beautiful beaches and hot pools, and on the Te Aroha track if you like walking. I will happily share a meal when I am around, and you will need a car if possible. Warkworth is ten minutes away and is a lovely community to be part of, with a great library and food. Auckland is an hour away.
The charge per week is 300 dollars and you have your own room, and use of a limited Wi-Fi because we live in an iconic earth-built house away from signals…which can be frustrating, but somehow perfect!
You will be able to learn about and join in our Regenerative life and share our Heritage fruit and vegetables, and your own fridge. No drugs or alcohol or unnatural chemical art materials can go back into our protected land.
Bring your own food and art supplies, and apply via Earthskin web site, with applications to office.earthskin@gmail.com and we look forward to hearing from you, and sharing the magic that is Earthskin.
If your application is accepted by our Earthskin judges for a space mid July 25 onward, we would appreciate a Koha piece of your work to add to our Earthskin collection.
Kindest wishes,
Nancy King
